Our Beliefs
At First Clover United Methodist Church, our beliefs are rooted in Scripture, shaped by tradition, informed by reason, and confirmed through experience. As part of the United Methodist Church, we seek to live out a faith that is thoughtful, compassionate, and centered on God’s grace.
We Believe in God
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created all things, loves all people, and desires wholeness for the world. God is both holy and loving, faithful in all generations, and present with us in every season of life.
We Believe in Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully human and fully divine. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus reveals God’s love, offers forgiveness, and opens the way to new life. In Jesus, we see both who God is and who God calls us to be.
We Believe in the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s active presence in the world today—guiding, comforting, convicting, and empowering us to live faithfully. The Spirit helps us grow in love, deepen our faith, and serve others in Christ’s name.
We Believe in Grace
Grace is at the heart of our faith. United Methodists believe God’s grace is always at work:
We Believe Faith Is Lived Out
Faith is more than belief; it is a way of life. We believe following Jesus calls us to love our neighbors, seek justice, show mercy, and walk humbly with God. Worship, service, learning, and community all shape how we live our faith each day.
We Believe the Church Is for Everyone
The church is the body of Christ, called to welcome everyone, care, and serve. You do not need to have everything figured out to belong here. We believe God meets people where they are and continues to lead them forward in love.
